This is sooo adorable! I want to do some sort of variation of this for my reception. This would also be cute for a baby shower.

Just married:

After a nerve racking and very public wedding ceremony Princess Catherine and Prince William hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace. The royals changed out of their formal ceremony attire and wore tuxes and ballgowns. The Duchess of Cambridge wore another elegant Alexander McQueen dress.

The cake:

Fiona Cairns and her team made and designed this amazing eight tired (did I count that correctly?) wedding cake for the royal couple. She covered it in cream and white icing with nearly 900 sugar-paste flowers. The cake’s base featured ivy leaves, symbolizing marriage, and the bottom three tiers were decorated with piped lace work and daisies, (meaning innocence) and lavender.

The cake was comprised of 17 individual fruit cakes (traditional of English weddings), 12 of them formed a multi-tiered base. According to the BBC, the cake took an 5 weeks to make!
Prince William made a special request for his wedding day: a chocolate biscuit cake made from a secret royal recipe.

Biscuit maker McVities was commissioned to make this chocolate delight for the prince.
The cake was detailed with white chocolate water lilies, milk chocolate leaves and white and milk chocolate feathers.
Apparently the company, now part of the United Biscuits Group, has made many of the wedding and christening cakes for members of the Royal Family since the marriage of George V to Queen Mary in 1893. (Credit: the mirror)
