i love new york

As most of you know by now on June 24 New York legislators legalized same sex marriage. My friend Keegan was at the gay pride parade in the Soho area New York City and sent me some pictures that I wanted to share with you all:

Outside a restaurant a few blocks away from Kleinfeld bridal on 21st st.

The front window of the Michael Kors store on 5th Ave and 20th St.

The parade went from 5th Ave starting at 36th and went all the way to about 7th.

Brioche Typeface

Yet another little treasure I found via Tumblr.

Exactly like the image indicates it would be perfect for weddings or other wedding related events. For me it almost reminds me of a daily specials board at a restaurant (and that’s probably why I like this typeface.)

Was searching through the designer’s website and there is a similar dress that is floor length, that I am also in love with, check it:

Stamped Fête & California Ranch

Another all around gorgeous outdoor wedding. I originally found this wedding from the print work on the invitations and signage. Makes me feel a little self conscious about my handwriting. After looking at photographs from the wedding I feel in love with the natural feel of the color scheme. Generally if I have to choose between black and brown, I always choose black. But this wedding make me appreciate the different shades of brown.
Upon thinking of my future wedding (far in the future) I keep wondering how much DIY projects I could complete myself or with the help of others. I love the idea of getting a stamp made for the invites or other aspects of the wedding.

Paul Johnson photography: Alys & Alex

I came across this photography website while on Tumblr. A husband and wife couple, Paul and Mecheal, based in Rosemary Beach, Fla. but love to travel for destination weddings or other locations in the U.S. I simply love the look and feel of their photography. Here is just one of their weddings that they photographed that I am in love with. When I get married (in the far future) I would want a venue similar to this:

The Ruins

The first few days of work I’ve been adding and editing database contacts and have come across some awesome wedding-related businesses that I have writen down in my notebook that I plan on sharing with you.

I came across this venue called “The Ruins” located 570 Roy Street, Seattle that is absolutly charming and gorgeous. It has been in business since 1993 and offers catering and event planning services. From their website some rooms can hold up to 200 guests and each room is already elaboratly decorated (saves you money!) The pictures speak for themselves.

Ballroom, artist Jennifer Carrasco and can hold between 100-112:

Dining room, can hold between 50-80:

My boss just recieved a wedding invitation in the mail and I had to share this invitation with you, it’s adorable! Sorry the pictures are dark and aren’t of the best quality, I had to take them on my phone.

Also, I don’t know how to rotate them. I shall figure this out at home…somehow.
