Easy, simple, resourceful. Let’s do it!

Yes – you are seeing that correctly. She is wearing a purple wedding dress. I love the lace one-shoulder detail and her turquoise ring. But what I really like about this wedding are the little details. Take a gander:

Comment from original blogger: For $150, Tracy designed and printed their invitations and ceremony programs. The paper came from Kelly Paper and the printing was done at 1 Up Graphics. When in doubt, stack the type on your invitations to create a full-length conversation piece that also includes every bit of 411 needed for guests.

The bride and groom created this flowchart to show how each guest is connected to the couple. Clever, right?

I love this backyard garden wedding I found on welovepictures.blogspot.com. The picture of the day #10 I found on Tumblr and, thankfully, it linked me back to the original post. The ceremony and reception were held in the mother-of-the-bride’s garden. This garden breathtakingly gorgeous and so are the bride and groom. Take a look for yourself and enjoy!
An update from 10 minutes ago when I first started looking at these pictures: This is my favorite wedding of 2011. Decided. They are just so madly in love.

I love the tree heart. I remember in fifth grade my friends and I carved our names into a tree; a few years later they cut the trees down. I’ve always thought carving your initials into a tree was romantic. I still haven’t convinced my boyfriend to do this.

This is such a good picture to end on. Please visit the link above to see more awesomeness.
Came across this California DIY wedding on Style Me Pretty. This is more of a “wedding of the day” than a picture of the day post but oh well, deal with it. I love the small town feel and simplicity. If you can’t tell already, I prefer small, simple and intimate than something along the lines of Kim K’s “marriage ceremony.”

This reminds me of something I used to do when I was little. Whenever it snowed my neighbor and I would write a little note to each other, wrap it up in a snowball then freeze it until summer. When it was the hottest month of the summer we would have a snowball fight then read our notes.
I came across this somewhere on the Internet universe and fell in love with the idea. Just make sure you store the wine correctly or you might be drinking vinegar.

Prior to the wedding, you gather a strong wooden wine box, a bottle of wine and two glasses. Then, also before the ceremony, you both sit down separately and write love notes to each other, explaining your feelings on the eve of your wedding day. Each letter then gets sealed in its own envelope. You do not read your beau’s letter.
Then, at some point during the ceremony, your officiant explains the process, and the two of you seal the box by taking turns hammering in one nail at a time until the box is closed.
You don’t open the box until your 10th anniversary (or really whatever anniversary you choose.) Either way, on the day that you open the box, you both read the letters and drink the wine, remembering how you both felt just days before your wedding day.
